Who can legally smoke in the Quebec province?
The age for smoking or buying weed in Quebec is the same as the drinking age – you must be at least 18 years old.
If you are under this age you won’t even be allowed to enter a cannabis retail facility, so be sure you have your ID with you proving you are of age.
If you are caught selling to a minor, you’ll be punished according to the Quebec cannabis rules, so if you are a legitimate licensed retail facility be sure you always ask for identification before selling your product.

Most other regions of Canada allow you to grow four plants at home, but not Quebec.
But no worries, there are plenty of sources for buying weed throughout French Canada.
Where can you legally purchase your weed in Quebec?
The only legal source for purchasing your cannabis in Quebec is through the SQDC.
These stores are government-operated and are strict about what they sell, how much you can purchase at one time, and who they sell to.
Only 30 grams of dried cannabis can be purchased each time you visit the store.
You’ll also have the chance to buy fresh cannabis and oil products from the SQDC.
Some provinces allow for as much as 1,000 grams of weed in your home, but Quebec only allows 150 grams within your private residence.
Are there any restrictions on where you can light up?
If you want to smoke while you’re walking through the streets of Montreal, you need to be aware of where you can legally do this without getting in trouble.
Quebec cannabis rules allow for public consumption of weed, but prohibit it in places like school grounds, playgrounds, college campuses, or childcare centers.
