Grow Room Ventilation Ideas

An excellent growing environment replicates nature. If you wish to grow a cannabis plant successfully, you have to make sure it has everything it needs. When creating an indoor grow system, one of your primary focuses should be getting a proper air supply. This is where the grow room ventilation system comes in.

In this article, we provide you with grow room ventilation ideas and explain what you need to know to create the perfect environment for your plants.

What is a grow room ventilation system?

When setting up a grow tent, a ventilation system is one of the most important components as it ensures a continuous flow of air between the indoor grow area and outside. Most people use exhaust fans, ducts, pipes, and circulation fans to achieve the best result.

There are many reasons why having a proper grow room ventilation system is crucial. Most importantly, it creates a suitable growing environment for the plants and gives them CO2-rich air. As you may know, the overall concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is low, which is why it is vital to have a constant flow of fresh air.

In normal conditions, plants are also exposed to wind. For this reason, they must have a similar environment in a grow tent.

Grow tent intake and exhaust – what you should know about the setup

To achieve great results, you need something for growing tent intake and exhaust. Usually, a grow tent intake fan gets air from a different room. With its help, the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide will be replenished, plus the air will cool down too.

Keep in mind that the grow tent intake fan should use only around 25% of the strength of the extractor fan. Otherwise, the CO2 and O2 levels will get out of order.

Don’t forget about a grow tent exhaust fan too! Having a good one is a ‘must’ to vent hot air out and bring in the fresh air instead. While small fans can be beneficial, they can’t help with the overall temperature or humidity. It is essential to invest in a high-quality grow tent exhaust fan because it can do both venting and air movement.

Where should you place the fans?

It would be great to have a breeze surrounding the main canopy in ideal scenery. For this reason, it is best to place your fans above and under the plants. What is essential, they shouldn’t be pointed directly at the cannabis. Instead, point them towards the wall. Then, the breeze won’t be too strong, and you will avoid any potential damage to the leaves and stems.

Once you have placed the fans, make sure that all plant parts are getting some air. If the air seems stagnant, you should set them up differently.

Like humans, having breathable air is essential for plants to survive. Without a quality ventilation system, your plants are doomed. While creating a ventilation system can seem a lot of hassle at first, it is not as difficult as you think. Make sure your plants get the air they need!
