Even the most experienced growers are harvesting crops that haven’t met their full potential, often without realizing it. Why? In most cases, it all comes down to plant nutrition.
Failing to give your plants the nutrients they need can have a lot of negative impacts, but unfortunately, nutrient imbalances are extremely common. That’s why Strive has developed a nutrient delivery system that can take your crop to an entirely new level.
Strive nutrients are made specifically for cannabis, and the system is focused on increasing the size, potency, terpene production, and yield of your next harvest. Keep reading to learn more about Strive, how it works, and how your cannabis plants will thrive.

Strive’s 3 Innovations for Cannabis Nutrition
After years of studying the effects of nutrient issues on weed plants, Strive has been able to develop an innovative system for achieving optimal cannabis nutrition. Their blend focuses on 3 strategies for effective nutrient delivery, including:
- Eliminating Nutrient Friction
The phrase “nutrient friction” refers to any nutrient imbalance in cannabis plants, ranging from too many nutrients to too little to nutrient lockout.
When any form of nutrient friction happens, your crop won’t be able to focus on what’s important – reaching optimal growth. Instead, each plant will be putting its energy into fixing the issue at hand, and that means a weaker, less potent crop (not to mention a much lower yield).
At Strive, the team is focused on eliminating the risks of nutrient friction so that your crop can improve by as much as 20-40%, not only in size but also in potency. Their take on cannabis nutrition even goes as far as eliminating nutrient issues that are invisible to the naked eye.
All in all, Strive gets that the best way to achieve optimal growth is by minimizing the risk of nutrient-related problems. And that’s why they created a nutrient system that has everything your plants need to thrive, and best of all, it’s easy for all growers to use.
- Using a Bi-Form Balance Blend
Now the question is, how has Strive been able to eliminate nutrient friction? Well, it all has to do with their Bi-Form Balance Blend technology.
With this blend of nutrients, growers are able to eliminate issues right from the get-go in the veg phase and continue this trend all the way through to the end. The Bi-Form Balance Blend is super simple to use, but it still manages to deliver everything your plants need to thrive.
- Adding a Patented “TurboTerp”
We all understand that terpene production is an important part of the growth cycle. Terpenes have everything to do with how your weed tastes and smells, so it’s no wonder that growers are more focused than ever on boosting terpene counts.
At Strive, they’ve put a lot of time and effort into understanding the process behind terpene production. According to them, it’s actually quite simple and can be broken down into 2 facts.
First, it’s all about ensuring that each trichome has the greatest potential for growth, which links back to eliminating nutrient friction. Second, your nutrient system has to supply the plant’s cellular production factories with the right fuel, and that fuel is exactly what’s contained in Strive’s TurboTerp Infusion Blend.
Using TurboTerp along with the Bi-Form Balance Blend fuels your plants’ terpene production at exactly the right time in the growth cycle. Not only does it increase the size and density of each trichome, but it also improves the nutrient supply, ultimately optimizing terpene production for stronger-smelling, better-tasting weed.

How Strive Is Different from Other Cannabis Fertilizers
The creators of Strive understand better than anyone just how ineffective general-use hydroponic nutrients can be. These growers have been doing their thing for 40+ years, and they’ve tried and tested all of the big names when it comes to nutes.
The nutrient systems made by big chemical companies may seem like they’re getting the job done, but what most growers don’t realize is that these companies are intentionally delivering sub-par products in the hopes of turning a bigger profit.
To these major industry players, it’s all about the money. They make products that appear to be working, but below the surface, your plants are experiencing nutrient issues that have to be fixed with supplemental, more complex (and more expensive) products.
This means you’ll have to spend more buying additional nutes to help your crop thrive, and that money goes directly into the pockets of big chemical companies. Strive does things differently, and here’s how:
2 Bags, 1 Blend
Rather than make things ultra-complicated, the Strive nutrient delivery method is simple and easy to maintain. They use a single blend that’s contained in 2 separate bags so that growers can find the perfect balance, just by mixing the 2 different parts.
The best part of all is that there’s nothing complicated about it. Growers will use the same mixing ratio from veg all the way to the final flowering week. If you’ve ever grown before, you know that this isn’t the norm; mixing nutes usually involves complicated calculations, but not with Strive.
Lowest Cost Per Grow on the Market
Some chemical companies charge outrageous prices for even the most basic nutrients. At Strive, this isn’t the case at all. In fact, it’s been proven that when used the right way, Strive has the lowest cost per grow on the market.
That means you’ll be able to slash your nutrient costs while simultaneously improving the health and yield of your crop. To give some perspective, the Veg + Bloom combo is only $59.99 for both parts, and that’s all you’ll need throughout the entire grow.
Strive’s Unreal Growers Guarantee
Another cool thing about Strive is the company’s official guarantee that their nutrient system will work. As long as you use the system correctly and follow the ratio instructions, Strive literally guarantees that you’ll experience a 20-40% boost in your next crop.
Here’s the official “Thriving Growth Guarantee” from Strive: “Try our nutrients for 180 days, and if you don’t notice the difference, we’ll give you your money back – plus we’ll buy our competition’s nutrients for you.”
That statement alone shows just how much confidence Strive has in their nutrient system. Not many companies will refund a purchase, let alone buy your next set of nutes from a competitor brand.

Strive Nutrients FAQs
How Do Strive Nutrients Work for Hydroponics?
The Strive company built this nutrient system specifically with hydroponic growing in mind. That doesn’t mean you can’t use it for other types of grow ops, just that it’s best for those centered around hydro.
The growers behind Strive have tested the nutrients in environments involving Coco DTW, flood and drain in Promix, and DWC as well as other hydroponic systems. So far, there hasn’t been any negative feedback from growers.
Can Strive Fertilizer Be Used for Outdoor Plants?
Yep! This is a general-use fertilizer that’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor growing. During their tests, Strive found that the results for outdoor grows were just as good as indoor ops (if not better). There are, of course, a few important things to keep in mind if you’re using Strive Nutrients for growing weed outdoors.
First off, you’ll need to consider what is naturally found in the soil you’ll be using. For example, if you’re using large pots filled with Promix and nothing else, it’s recommended that you use nutrients in every watering, just as you would when growing indoors.
On the other hand, planting your crop in the ground while using pre-nutriented soil means that you won’t need to use as much of Strive’s nutrient solution. Your plants will already be getting nutrients from the earth, and overdoing it with nutrients can be just as harmful as undergoing it.
Whether you’re growing indoors or outdoors, the key is to see how your plants react to the nutrient system from the very beginning. That way you can make informed decisions on how to give your crop exactly what it needs.
What Does Strive Mean by “No Additives like Cal-Mag or Bud-Boosters Needed”?
One of the money-making tricks used by big fertilizer companies is convincing growers that they need to use multiple products in order to harvest healthy plants. They’ve tricked so many growers into buying “additives” and “boosters” like calcium-magnesium solutions and bud-boosters.
If you think about it, this is a smart tactic, but only for the sake of their profit margins. Take General Hydroponics for example. Using this company’s full line of nutrients means that you’ll have to purchase 12+ bottles and make complicated calculations for each batch of nutes.
The smart way to deliver nutrients would be to create an all-around product with these additives already contained within the solution – just like Strive has done. At Strive, there are just 2 bags with simple mixing instructions.
Ideally, Strive would have liked to create a system with just 1 bag or bottle, but logically, the company found that 2 bags containing different nutrient blends makes the most sense. There are a couple of reasons for this, but the biggest is that it gives you, the grower, the ability to adjust your ratios based on how your specific crop reacts to nutrients.
Of course, you can still use boosters and additives if you find that it’s necessary, but Strive just suggests that you “listen” to your plants. If you pay close enough attention, you’ll learn exactly what your crop needs (and what it doesn’t) to grow big and strong.
Does Strive Have the Same Mix for Both Veg and Flower?
The Strive system is made up of 2 separate bags, each with slight differences so that you can change the nutrient composition to best fit the phase of the grow cycle. The first bag, called Part A, is low in nitrogen and high in potassium and phosphorus.
Bag #2, called Part B, is higher in nitrogen as well as Calcium. The differences in each mix make it possible to easily adjust nutrient levels throughout. For example, you could increase Part B slightly in the vegetative stage to give the boost of nitrogen and calcium your plants crave to get a healthy start.
Then, you can start increasing the amount of Part A you use in mid to late flower for a boost in potassium and phosphorus. Definitely start out by following the label’s recommendations on mixing ratios, but feel free to change things up based on how your crop reacts.
What’s the Recommended Mixing Ratio for Strive Nutrients?
Here are the exact instructions for mixing ratios from Strive:
- Add 15mL of Part A per 10 litres of water. Mix for 3 to 5 minutes until fully dissolved.
- Add 6.5mL of Part B to the same solution. Mix for 3 to 5 minutes until fully dissolved.
- Adjust pH from 5.8 to 6.2 depending on the type of crop you’re growing.
- Wait for 3 to 5 minutes and check pH again, adjusting as needed.
- Add mixture to plants while allowing sufficient run-off from the bottom of each pot. For best results, use the nutrient solution immediately after mixing.
Strive suggests that you don’t use any non-Strive additives like cal-mag, but once again, it’s all about listening to your plants and figuring out what’s best.
How Does Strive Work with RO Water?
Strive was designed to work well with both tap water and reverse osmosis systems. Most of the company’s testing was done with RO, and the nutrient system is perfectly capable of delivering what your plants need without the need for additives or bud boosters.
One thing to note is that using well water with Strive nutrients might cause some issues for your plants. Well water has a high PPM because of the calcium, iron, sulfur, and other naturally-occurring substances it contains. Adding too many additional nutrients can cause nutrient friction, so it’s best to run your well water through an RO system before mixing in nutes.
Another thing to keep in mind is that pure RO water generally has a PPM rating of less than 20. This is considered “unstable” and won’t work well with most fertilizers. For that reason, you’ll definitely want to consider adding some well water or tap water back into the watering system to bring the PPM up to ~50.
How Do Strive Nutes Work in Coco Grow Ops?
As we said before, Strive is a general-use product. That means it can be used in multiple growing environments and mediums, including Coco. In fact, Strive works best with soilless mixtures, and Coco is the perfect example of that.
Our Conclusion About Strive Nutrients
There’s no shortage of nutrients to choose from but try not to be fooled by the big fertilizer brands that claim to have growers’ backs. Many of these companies are using strategic marketing ploys to trick growers into buying more products that are actually needed.
Strive Nutrients, on the other hand, has developed an easy-to-use, affordable system that requires only 2 bags of nutes. We have seen firsthand just what Strive can do for cannabis, so if you want bigger yields and more potent buds, this is the brand to go with.
