Grow Tent Temperatures

Finding the sweet spot can be tricky when it comes to humidity and temperature in your grow tent. It is no secret that controlling the atmospheric conditions is one of the essential steps to achieving the best results. What temp should your grow tent be?

If you want to maximize your harvests, it is crucial to create ideal environmental conditions. What temperature should your grow tent be? That depends on the growth stage of the plants inside. Unfortunately, one size doesn’t fit all. At each growth stage, the cannabis plant has different needs.

For this reason, it is crucial to change the temperature accordingly.

Seedling stage temp

For the seedling stage, 75° – 85° F would be optimal.

Vegetative stage temp

The vegetative stage should be less – around 70° – 85° F.

Flower stage temp

Lastly, keep the grow tent at  65° – 80° F for the flowering stage.

Are you feeling lazy? If you can’t change the temperature periodically, make sure to keep it around 80° F.

How to lower humidity in a grow tent?

Keeping the humidity in check can be pretty tricky. Regardless of what indoor plant you are growing, having too much moisture can create mildew, fungal growth, and even mold. Your grow tent shouldn’t exceed 70% humidity, but – if it does – you have to figure out how to lower it. Luckily, there are many options.

Don’t overwater your cannabis plants

This may seem like an obvious tip, but overwatering is a common mistake many people make. If you overwater the cannabis, it will make the soil soggy, and the plant leaves may leave more vapor in the air. Both of these factors can contribute to raising the humidity.

Have enough ventilation

One of the best ways to decrease humidity in a grow tent is to ensure adequate ventilation. To get more airflow, use fans. This way, the trapped air inside will have a link with fresh air.

How to raise the humidity in grow tents?

Having too much humidity is not the only issue you can encounter. If there is not enough of it, your plant may have growth and development issues, leading to dampness. Wondering how to raise the humidity in a grow tent? One of the easiest things you can do is invest in a humidifier.

Depending on how big your tent is, the moisture level may be brought to at least 50% to 65%. Ideally, place it on the bottom shelf and check on it regularly. Otherwise, it can create too much moisture.

To avoid this problem, it is best to choose a humidifier with a built-in humidistat. Then the machine will work according to your specified moisture settings. Another option is to drop the temperature. You can add an A/C to the mix to achieve this goal. However, make sure it doesn’t cool off too much.

If you take care of your plants properly, they will pay you back. Setting up the grow tent and following the changes in temperature and humidity can seem like a lot of hassle, but it is well worth it!
